Richard T. Howitt, Q.C. (retired)

 

Richard T. Howitt is the founder of the firm and has been a respected lawyer and staple of the community in Georgetown since 1973.   After graduating from Osgoode Hall Law School, Dick began his legal career with a Toronto law firm that specialized in litigation. 

 

After 9 years of practicing law in Toronto, and one year in London England with Norton Rose, a large firm of solicitors, Dick moved to Georgetown and began practicing there.  Dick was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1976.  He has devoted a substantial portion of his practice to the field of real estate, corporate and estate law including wills and powers of attorney.  His commitment to his community has included serving on local and regional council, on the Library Board, on the Conservation Authority, and 15 years on the Halton District School Board. 

 

For over 40 years, Dick’s reputation has been synonymous with integrity and excellence.  His commitment to client service, his wisdom and his warm personality has made him one of the most sought after lawyers in his field.  We are privileged to know, learn from, and to have worked alongside him.
